Hi. I'm Fiona and welcome to my new website www.affordable-paintings.com

My passion for art goes back many years but I always felt owning an original work of art was beyond my reach financially speaking.  So following a lot of inspiration from Modern Artists around the world, I decided to begin painting myself. 

I visit You Tube to follow artists who are experts in Dutch Pouring Art, Fluid Art, Abstract Art and I especially enjoy videos of pour painting; something really popular in the USA and Australia and now trending in the UK. 

For health reasons I had the opportunity to reassess my priorities and now work from home in my converted studio...

I work mainly with acrylics as I love the depth of colour and the ease with which acrylic paints flow and blend making each work of art an original.  Sometimes I use mixed media for texture and interest in my landscapes, again making it original piece of art.

 All of my paintings have a matt coating to prevent fading and damage.

I really love spending my days in my studio enjoying my craft and I want to share my love of art with others through my affordable contemporary paintings....  

Owning an original piece of art is not the prerogative of only the rich and famous. As we are streamlining our homes making them more usable, accessible and modern; a place to escape from the hectic lives we lead, a sanctuary and place of calm to recharge the batteries; a striking piece of art on the wall gives you pleasure. It makes you smile and takes you into another world.

 The feeling of absolute calm and happiness I get whilst painting is something I try to convey in my art hoping other's get the same feeling of pleasure themselves when looking at, and owning an original affordable piece of art.  Contemporary art, such as an abstract painting, looks amazing hanging on the wall of a modern home. Fluid art, or pour painting produces some really unique and beautiful results which make a fantastic statement piece in your home.  A definite talking point amongst your guests, friends and family.

When you decide on the painting which fits best in your home, you need to know it will arrive safely, promptly and at a reasonable cost for postage.

My larger paintings are sent to you via  a courier service, such as Hermes, DHL etc. with the smaller ones being posted First Class through Royal Mail.  Each painting is lovingly wrapped in bubble wrap for protection then covered in brown Kraft paper and hand tied with string. I will place a handle with care label on each parcel.  Each painting is signed by myself, the artist.  Very much the old school way of buying art!!!

In the time that I have been packaging and posting paintings not one has arrived damaged due to the extra care I take. 

Once your painting is dispatched I will send a confirmation email with an expected date of arrival. 

I will always aim to get your painting on it's way on the day it is ordered because I want you to start enjoying your piece of original art as soon as possible.
